Did a whole lot of sitting on my can for a few days during the rest of the holiday break, so I was pretty pumped to get back in the box for:

10 power snatch (30 lb DB)
10 lunges (30 lb DB)
10 DB swings (30 lb DB)
10 goblet squats (30 lb DB)
30 sec handstand hold

Finished with 11:36, rx'd. Fun WOD, especially since it didn't lay me flat on my butt after my recent slackitude.

A little disappointed with 8 reps, but hey.

Then yesterday, we did 400 m of walking lunges, which took me 13:43. Terrible.

Quarter Gone Bad today:

5 rounds

15 sec thrusters (85 lb)
45 sec rest
15 sec kipping pullups
45 sec rest
15 sec burpees
45 sec rest

I ended up with 88 reps; thrusters were (6-6-5-5-5), pullups 6 reps across the board; burpees (6-6-6-6-7). Wasn't feeling great before the WOD, but enjoyed myself once it started and felt pretty good even though my kip is still rusty.

Then I punked out and went inside (25 is just not an acceptable workout temperature), and did 17 rounds of 1 ring dip on the minute before failing. Better than I thought I'd do, but there's work still to be done.

Woke up hella early this morning for:

10:54. My box jumps blew, partly because I had finished my Wendler >5 set 60 seconds prior to starting, partly because I stink at cycling box jumps when I'm tired. I am proud that I didn't have to come down early out of any of my handstands, although at the end of the 3rd set I definitely lost feeling in my arms.

Today was

10 pullups
20 burpees
25 kb swings
3 minute rest

I finished 4 rounds plus about 4 pullups before the tears in my hands got serious. I then did 20 burpees and tried a few KB swings before giving up. In any event, my first 4 rounds took about 2:30-3:00 apiece. Need to work on my pullup form - it's been awhile!

Today I worked up to a 1 rep max snatch of 77 lb. I missed a bunch of times at 82 but think I could definitely get it next time. We then did 12 minutes of 2 snatches every minute on the minute. I did it at 67 lb, which felt good (I only missed once, and it was because I was being lazy).

Tuesday all I did was work slightly below-depth HSPU negatives. Today I worked out at home:

Max reps ring dip
Max reps KB swing (1 pood)

Ring dips were sad (2-2-1-1), KB swings were pretty good (50, 40, 45, 40). Forearms are still numb.

Team WOD today:

2 rounds

1 lap around block with small sandbag

then, while each other team member does his or her lap, cycle through

KB snatch (25 lb)
tire flip, then hop into and out of tire for 1 rep
weighted step up (25 lb DB in each hand)

Back already felt a little saucy going into it, and by the time I got to KB snatches, I decided to do myself a favor by going a little lighter than the Rx'd weight. I got 42 and then 35 reps for KB snatches, in the early to mid-twenties for tire flips, and early to mid-twenties for weighted step ups (which easily were the hardest station for me).

Farted around with OHS and snatch balance some, and then did

AMRAP 7 minutes

10 power snatches (65 lb)
5 HSPUs (1 ab mat)

3 rounds plus 12 reps. Glad I forced myself to do the Rx'd weight for snatches, and was even able to practice cycling, but I still have a lot of work to do in that regard. Going to work some below-parallel HSPU negatives to help me overcome my HSPU impasse.
